Austria 2022: Lum!x ft. Pia Maria with ‘Halo’

On a mission to raise the average bpm of the year, Austria have released their entry for Turin:

Austria might be the laziest country in the competition, terrified since Cesar Sampson's jury win with what was assumed to be a safe radio song. Anyway this is alright and better than feared. It's dated and repetitive but does a good job at entertaining for three minutes.

There's not a lot of precedent of success for the genre and the live performance will be a concern. We're going to get Lumix pretending to mix and a very inexperienced singer left to carry a very high tempo song- a recipe for trouble usually.

I appreciate it will also provide a burst of energy at the contest but fans have got carried away with the high rankings I'm seeing for this.

If we get a conventional running order this is probable to get the final spot in the semi with Norway the other uptempo not really needing the help. With that consideration I have this ahead of 5 others for now so is another to go in the borderline category for now.
