Melodifestivalen: Semi Final 3 Preview
I've been a bit more reserved on Melodifestivalen intentionally so far with the exception of Lisa Ajax and my outright backing of MM and more recently Saucedo and really bided my time to get the full picture. It's not the boldest approach but means we should be able to score a higher level of accuracy.
Like last week, the ‘best’ entry looks set to miss out on the semi win with a very strong fan poll showing for Cazzi Opeia. It's not a great song in my opinion but Sweden or more appropriately the Melfest audience seem to have warmed to her and there is some good will in having a ’Tattoo’ writing credit. Throw in the all powerful pimp slot too and I agree she looks like winning the semi. Should she fall short her greater demographic ballance vs Gunilla Persson or those previous advantage points vs Jacqline should see her direkt at minimum. Those demographics as mentioned should help the superior Jacqueline also get over the line and with Cazzi out of the way- if this plays out as expected- a portion of her vote is freed up and with this geared towards the TV more she should outperform her concerning fan poll. Gunilla settles for third. I’m fairly happy on that top 3 in that order. The bottom 3 feels trickier. Clara Klingenstrom sits bottom of the poll and second in the running order but would be easier to discard where it not for her previous run. Out of the men, Klaudy has polled better and is a much more comfortable performer than Kim but on paper the latter’s song is more of a steady Melfest scorer. A tricky one, but I'll go Klaudy 4th and Kim to finish last putting Clara in between the pair.

It’s a shame Jacqline doesn't appear to be going down too well having took some 30+ a month back and it doesn't look like the winner is coming from this semi either - the search goes on… Although the odds have come in a lot since the Jacqline hype at the start of the week, Cazzi both to win the semi but especially at the shorter top 2 prices is still value. Gunilla at 2.25 for places 3/4 is also worth looking at.
