San Marino 2023: The Piqued Jacks with ‘Like an Animal’

It's band central this year with San Marino bringing the Piqued Jacks to the party:

When it takes a couple of days to get these reviews out (and there's not a backlog) it generally means I'm not looking forward to it and don't have much to say. This is the case here. ‘Like An Animal’ is alright for it's first minute, broadly listenable for the next and awful in it's last when our main man let's his vocals rip whilst the beat stays the same.

The days of San Marino being almost automatically the objective worst at Eurovision every year may be gone but this is rightly in poor company at the bottom of every metric that we'll find and there were much better options.

The only case for this is being in the second half of semi 2 but it is still the least competitive entry in there all things considered and Slovenia and Australia are a better options to vote for.

I don't expect this to qualify and its the favourite for last in my book.

Personal Rating: 2/10

Competitve Rating: 1/10

Early Prediction: Semi Two 13th-16th
