North Macedonia 2022: Andrea with ‘Circles’

After their online vote and international jury poll, Andrea has grabbed the ticket to Turin through the tiebreaker:

There's one or two of these every year that I quite like but are pretty hopeless. The problem is in ‘quite like’, it will probably be my 12th favourite or something and no-one votes for their 12th favourite. There's nothing here to put this at the top of anyone's pile and the televote will be poor. There's something half hearted about it where no emotion comes through at all in the music.

I worry about Andrea too, North Macedonia more than any country perhaps need strong experienced performers to try to slap the delegation into shape, particularly around staging. Andrea doesn't have that, nor does she fill me with confidence vocally when the pressure is on or in her ability to connect. North Macedonia are operating on a shoestring budget it would seem and are just going to choose some lighting, a bit of a backdrop and leave her to it and she will look utterly lost I fear.

The semi isn't too hot yet, but North Mac aren't really swimming in guaranteed points either. I don't think much of that matters though and this looks very unlikely to qualify.
