Romania 2022: WRS with ‘Llamame’

Romania's Selectia Nationala was one of the least anticipated of the season with WRS taking the win in the end:

Considering Romania have spent time in the 1000+ bin before this was selected, its actually not that bad. Sure its dated, overstays its welcome by a good minute and features a pretty poor vocal but it just about does the job as a summery Latin pop song.

The staging needs refinement rather than a complete overhaul with a real Pyro curtain an obvious place to start. Romania are in a pretty wretched run in terms of results of course and staging has been part of the problem so will be one to nervously see if they can get it right.

There's no Moldova or Italy voting in semi 2 which is at least 36 points on the floor and would have seen them through. This selection is bad news for Israel and their even camper pop song and first half draw. Surely one of these max is going to make it to Saturday. Romania do still have support in the semi and some countries liable to enjoy this so are still in the mix. I feel like I've been saying this a lot the last few reviews, but should it make the final we're looking at Romania's base vote alone pretty much, enough for a mid table finish this year.

Personal Rating: 6/10

Competitve Rating: 5/10

Early Prediction: Semi 2 9th-13th, 15th-19th if in the final.
