Denmark 2022: Reddi with ‘The Show’

In a tight superfinal, Reddi were able to see off Conf3ssions and Josie and Jack to win DMGP22:

Ah Denmark at Eurovision, even when dipping a toe ever so slightly into the loose rock genre we get something safe and smiley. It's not necessarily a bad thing. We've already got three other rock entries (Bulgaria, San Marino, Finland) all going for the edgier approach with mixed success.

The song is without saying a bit of a dated cliché but again that's not a terrible thing for the purposes of qualification. There's enough people at home who just want something catchy, and accessible. The biggest issue for me is the live vocal. It's one thing taking inspiration from pre 2000s Bonnie Tyler, another having a Malmo 2013 esque vocal- there's some rough moments and just not as much strength as required throughout. The girls are a charismatic bunch, but this has to be marked down, I suggest DR get working on covering this.

Staging wise, I'd be surprised if we get a concept or anything. This is just going to be the national final performance but on a bigger stage, perhaps a little pyro.

This looks borderline in the semi with the second half draw and presence of Iceland and Norway a boost. If it does get through its another looking at base points alone in the final.

Personal Rating: 5/10

Competitve Rating: 4/10

Early Prediction: Semi 1 9th-13th, 21st-25th if in the final.
